| Fire Pistons |
| Our Fire Pistons are hand crafted from exotic Coco Bolo wood, which is a very hard wood. With a simple push, tinder placed in the end of the piston's push rod is ignited by heat of compression, instantly becoming a glowing ember. The pressure relief valve allows the trapped air to be released, yet is easily resealed. This enables full compression for fire lighting. Once the valve is closed, the piston is trapped by the vacuum preventing it accidental air loss out of doors. Can use any dry natural material as tinder, such as timber fungus, mullen or milkweed down. You can also use char cloth or char punk wood as your tinder. Our pistons come with the guarantee of repair or replacement of a fire piston that fails to perform for any reason. |
